SOKEN

Support

Something not working, or a question the app didn’t answer? Email us and we’ll help.

It helps to include your device, the email address on your account, and what you were doing when it went wrong. We will never ask you for a password.

Signing in

SOKEN signs you in with a link sent to your email.

The link has to be opened on the phone you are signing in on. If you open it on a laptop, or in a different browser, the sign-in cannot complete — the app is waiting on a key that only exists on the device that asked for the link. Open the email on your phone and tap the link there.

Nothing arrived? Check your spam folder, then use Resend link on the verification screen. Links expire, so always use the newest one.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account.

This is permanent and immediate. It erases your scan history, every photo you have saved, and the account itself. There is no undo and no grace period — we cannot restore it afterwards, because nothing is kept to restore it from.

Everything in your profile — your name, your body details, your goals — never leaves your phone to begin with, so deleting the app removes that whether or not you delete the account. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored where.

If you cannot get into the app, email us from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.

Subscriptions

Your subscription is billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so cancelling has to happen there.

  • iPhone or iPad: the Settings app, then your name, then Subscriptions.
  • Android: the Play Store, then your profile, then Payments and subscriptions.

In SOKEN, Settings → Manage Account opens the right screen for your device. Restore Purchases, on that same screen, re-links a subscription after you reinstall the app or move to a new phone.

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies. We cannot issue them.

When a scan does not work

SOKEN reads a photograph of the food itself. It does best with the whole plate in frame, in reasonable light, before you start eating.

Some scans come back as Can’t Tell or Not Scored. That is the app declining to guess rather than inventing a verdict, and a scan like that does not count towards your body scan at all.

Barcode scanning looks the product up in Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central database. Not every product is in either one.

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Controls in SOKEN are labelled for VoiceOver and TalkBack, text scales with your system text-size setting, and animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.

We are not claiming it is perfect. If any part of SOKEN is hard or impossible to use with assistive technology, email info@sokenhealth.com and tell us the screen and the assistive technology you use. We treat those reports as bugs, not feature requests.

SOKEN is not medical advice

SOKEN presents published research about food and the body. It does not diagnose anything, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a dietitian. If something about your health worries you, speak to a professional.
